about InsideOut

The InsideOut home, garden and lifestyle show was founded in 2020 in the midst of the Covid-19 global pandemic.  Created by award winning interior designer Gwen Kenny of Divine Design and colour consultant Adele Roche, it was the first virtual event of its kind, featuring a host of interviews with leading names in the world of homes and gardens, exclusive tours of previously-unseen spectacular homes, castles and gardens, masterclasses in a range of home and garden related areas, cookery demonstrations and art auction.  Its inaugural sponsors were SONAS Bathrooms and Albany.

Co-creator, Gwen Kenny had originally planned to stage a physical event in aid of Friends of the Coombe in memory of her baby son Rían who tragically passed away at the Coombe Women & Infants University Hospital in 2009 aged just one day old.  And, when the Covid-19 pandemic turned life on its head, it was an idea from industry colleague Adele Roche that resulted in the pair working together to move the event online.

Put together in the space of eight weeks, last year’s impressive two-day line-up included interviews with architect and star of RTÉ’s Room to Improve, Dermot Bannon; award-winning architect and television personality Hugh Wallace; celebrity chef and restaurant owner Andrew Rudd; hotelier and presenter Noel Cunningham; Chelsea Flower Show gold-medal winner florist Jenny Murphy; food expert and broadcaster Aisling Larkin; Feng Shui expert and author Patricia Lohan; and the (River) dancing doctor, Shona Cobbe…all of which are available to watch on our YouTube channel.

The event also enabled us to raise €35,000 for our charity partner, Friends of the Coombe, enabling them to purchase a new transport ventilator for the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at the Coombe Women & Infants University Hospital.

2021

InsideOut has developed into an amazing community of people with a heart for sharing expertise and inspiration and making a difference.  And so…we just couldn’t say no to doing it all again!

Because of the support and encouragement of so many people, we are expanding the event from a two-day online extravaganza to a full-month packed with interviews, podcasts, workshops and masterclasses along with design consultations and an art auction.

We are having the time of our lives as we work on October’s line-up, meeting the most amazing people along the way who are being so generous with their time and their talents to help us put together an enjoyable and inspiring show.
